Discover 42 Urduliz, a not-so-hidden gem in our network of campuses located in the beautiful Basque Country in Spain.

Both the city of Bilbao and the region have undergone significant changes in the last 50 years. Historically, Bilbao was a port town specializing in the iron and steel industry. However, in the early nineties, the city began a major transformation, with a clear emphasis put on modernisation and design. Many internationally renowned architects and urban planners were involved in these changes, which ended up making the unique Guggenheim Museum Bilbao the symbol of the rejuvenated city. Today, the Basque Country is famous for its innovative environment. As an intergral part of the Greater Bilbao, 42 Urduliz carries on contributing to the region’s significant renewal.

Launched in April 2021, 42 Urduliz is the second 42 campus in Spain after 42 Madrid and the result of joint efforts both from Fundación Telefónica and the Biscay Foral Government. Located on the top floors of the city’s tallest tower, with a capacity of approximately 800 students, 42 Urduliz stands at the top of the world. Candidates, students, and companies are impressed with the look and feel of the campus, which reflects the innovative 42 way of learning.

“One of our main goals for this year and the years to come, for 42 Urduliz and the other campuses in Spain, is to attract more women. We’ve already organized fantastic events, like one-week Discovery Piscines for women, and we are planning lots of other opportunities. We are working together to have more diversity in our campuses.”

42 Urduliz has formed strong bonds with both local and international companies. The Basque Country, and Biscay in particular, has an attractive environment for new companies, and every week, new requests to visit the campus and learn more about 42 and what they can achieve together flock to staff email accounts. It is not surprising that most of 42 Urduliz’s students work while studying. While some of them already work in the field of IT and in reskilling, others are changing career paths and retraining. Student average age is 32 years old, making this campus stand out in the network of 42 partner campuses.
