42 Tokyo opened on June 22nd, 2020, and is primarily sponsored by DMM.com. Although Japan does not have a strong internship culture, it is easy to find a job, whether part-time or full-time. At the moment, the campus is working hand-in-hand with some of the most famous Japanese companies in the world. For example, thanks to their internal system called “Road”, students are invited to work on special company projects (DMM, Mixi, CyberAgent, Mercari). If they manage to complete them, they are invited to skip the first rounds of interviews at the respective companies. 42 Tokyo is also holding a minicar battle contest with Toyota: students programme a minicar to self-drive and do the best time on a specific track.

At the moment, 42 Tokyo has a capacity of 500 students. But in April 2024, 42 Tokyo will move to Nishi-Shinjuku and double its capacity. The emphasis is on creating an atmosphere where creativity and friendship are the core values… and, of course, training the best IT students in Japan with strong soft skills!
